Reliance Auditing Services, its subsidiaries and affiliates in Australia (collectively referred to as “RAS”) are subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the “Privacy Act”) and the Australian Privacy Principles (the “Australian Privacy Principles”) set out in the Privacy Act.

We are committed to managing personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

This Privacy Statement applies to the use of our website at https://www.relianceauditing.com.au and our mobile applications (“website”).
By using our website, you are taken to have read and understood this Privacy Statement and you have consented to us managing your personal information in the way described in this Privacy Statement.

Our Privacy Statement may be supplemented or amended from time to time. By accessing our website, you agree to be bound by the Privacy Statement that is in effect at the time you access our website. The Last Revised date of the Privacy Statement will inform you as to whether it has been updated since you last visited our website.

This Privacy Statement also applies to personal information we may collect at events which we hold or attend.

Our website is an Australian based website, and it is not intended to provide services to other countries including EU residents, and its terms may not be fully consistent with the General Data Protection Regulation. What is Personal Information?

“Personal information” has the meaning given to it in the Privacy Act, being information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information is true or not, and whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form.

What is Device Information?

As you browse our website, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the website, and information about how you interact with the website. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information”.

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

What is the purpose of handling your device information?

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimise our website (for example, by generating analytics about how our clients browse and interact with our website). However, we have anonymised your IP address in the Google Analytics app, telling Google Analytics to remove the last octet of your IP address prior to its storage.

By visiting our website, or attending events we attend or hold, you consent to the receipt of direct marketing material. We may use your personal information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing material we believe may be of interest to you, in accordance with applicable laws such as the Spam Act 2004 (Cth).

At any time, you may opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us by using the unsubscribe option in emails from us, or by contacting us on the contact details below.

What is the purpose of handling your personal information?

We will not use or disclose personal information for a purpose other than that for which it was collected unless it is:

(a) a purpose which the person who provided the information would reasonably expect;
(b) a purpose required or permitted by law; or
(c) a purpose for which we have obtained the consent of the person who provided the information.

We will not provide your personal information to any other organisation for the purpose of marketing, but we may use that information to let you know about events such as seminars, networking or other events conducted or sponsored by us.

If at any stage you do not wish to receive such information, please contact us in writing to advise us and we will remove your information from our marketing list. We do not sell, rent or lease your personal information to third parties, whether our partners or otherwise, for marketing purposes.

How do we store your personal information?

We may hold personal information as a physical record, electronically on our local system, in cloud storage or on third party servers.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. There are inherent risks in transmitting information across the internet where cloud computing is used.

We cannot be held liable for any third-party breaches on remote servers. We will endeavour to use 2-step authentication services where possible when using cloud-based services.

We strive to protect personal information by maintaining appropriate physical, procedural and technical security for our offices so as to prevent any loss, misuse, interference, unauthorised access, disclosure, or modification of personal information, including when we dispose of personal information.

How can you access and correct your Personal Information?

You may request access to personal information we hold about you. On the rare occasions when we refuse access, we will provide you with a written notice stating our reasons for refusing access. We may seek to recover reasonable costs incurred for providing you with access to any of the personal information we hold about you.

You may also request that information about you be corrected if you do not think that it is accurate. We are not obliged to correct any of your personal information if we do not agree that it requires correction, and we may refuse to do so. If we refuse a correction request, we will provide you with a written notice stating our reasons for refusing.

Requests to access or correct personal information should be made in writing to our Privacy Officer at info@relianceauditing.com.au. We will respond to all requests to access or correct personal information within a reasonable time.

Who do we disclose personal information to?

In providing services in the operation of our business, it is likely that we will disclose personal information to contracted service providers located outside of Australia. Those countries may include the USA, UK, South Africa, India and others.

Web traffic information may be disclosed to Google Analytics or other analytics providers when you visit our websites. These analytics providers may store this information across a large multiple of countries.

When you communicate with us through a social network service such as Facebook or LinkedIn, the social network provider and its partners may also collect and hold your personal information overseas across a large multiple of countries. These social networking services have their own privacy policies, and we strongly recommend that you review them.

Children

Our website is designed for people over the age of 18 years. It is our policy to not knowingly collect information from any person under the age of 18 years except as part of a specific engagement to provide services which may require such personal information to be collected, for the purposes of ensuring compliance with our auditor independence policies, or as otherwise required by law.
